SwissSign Group Ltd. welcomes the decision of the LC-NC

At its meeting on 15 November, the Legal Commission of the National Council (LC-NC) decides to "adhere" to the Federal Act on Electronic Identification Services (FAEIS). The Legal Commission thus recognises the importance of a state-recognised E-ID and is seizing the opportunity to take an important step forward for Switzerland in the context of digitisation.

Although there are already various self-declared digital identities of international providers such as Facebook, Apple, Google, etc. on the market today, the introduction of a state-recognised E-ID is an important step towards faster introduction of more complex online services such as e-government solutions and creating legal certainty. We as SwissSign Group Ltd. very much welcome the decision of the Legal Commission and are encouraged to push ahead with the introduction of SwissID as a national digital identity.
