FAQ: SwissID App
How can I change the language of the SwissID App?
The SwissID App adopts your mobile phone’s system language by default. If this language is not supported, the app will be displayed in English. The following languages are currently supported: German, French, Italian and English.
Can I use the SwissID App on more than one mobile phone?
Yes, you can use the SwissID App on more than one mobile phone. Please note, however, that use of two-factor authentication and the signature service is limited to one mobile phone.
Can I also use the SwissID App abroad?
Yes, you can also use the SwissID App abroad, provided that your mobile phone is connected to Wi-Fi or a mobile network. Please note that using mobile data while roaming may incur additional charges from your mobile service provider.
I want to delete the SwissID App. What should I do?
If you use the signature service, you must revoke your certificate before deleting the app. You can do this in your SwissID account under ‘Signature service’. A new certificate will be issued if you install and set up the app again afterwards.
If you use the SwissID App for two-factor authentication, you must disable this option first in your SwissID account. Deleting the SwissID App is not enough. The other two-factor authentication features will still be available to you afterwards as well.
I have forgotten my PIN for my SwissID App. How can I set a new PIN?
The PIN protects your app from unauthorised access. If you have forgotten your PIN, you can restore access using the following steps:
-
Uninstall the SwissID App
-
Reinstall the SwissID App
-
Log in with your SwissID account and set a new PIN
Tip: Enable biometric authentication (Face ID or Touch ID) to conveniently unlock the app using facial recognition or fingerprint. The PIN will only be requested if biometric authentication is not available.
