  • Introduction: motivation and legal framework for using PKI. What is PKI? What is a certificate?

  • Cryptographic basics: hashing functions, symmetrical/asymmetrical processes, digital signature, key lengths, Diffie Hellman, RSA, key management

  • PKI components: certificate entity, private and public keys, hash function, digital signature algorithm, CP/CPS, OCSP/CRL

  • PKI special features: certificate transparency, HSTS, OCSP stapling, CAA, DANE, pinning

  • Certificates in action: https (TLS), server/client-side identity proofing, transport security, S/MIME – email, digital signature

Target group

This training is aimed at IT managers, IT security officers and other IT specialists who deal with the planning, implementation and enforcement of measures in the field of information and IT security.

Our training partner is a recognised specialist with in-depth background knowledge in numerous PKI projects and training courses in the field of PKI. He works with multiple certification bodies and has extensive knowledge of the certificate environment and how to set up PKI.

  • Part 1: Monday, 24 February 2025, 1.00 pm to 5.00 pm

  • Part 2: Tuesday, 25 February 2025, 9.00 am to 12.00 noon

March (German)

  • Part 1: Monday, 3 March 2025, 1.00 pm to 5.00 pm

  • Part 2: Tuesday, 4 March 2025, 9.00 am to 12.00 noon

July (German)

  • Part 1 + 2: Tuesday, 1 July 2025, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm (all day)

September (German)

  • Part 1: Monday, 22 September 2025, 1.00 pm to 5.00 pm

  • Part 2: Tuesday, 23 September 2025, 9.00 am to 12.00 noon

 

The two-part training courses require taking part in Part 1 and Part 2 to cover the entire course content. Unfortunately, it is not possible to register for only one part.

All training courses will take place at our headquarters: SwissSign AG, Sägereistrasse 25, 8152 Glattbrugg.

Cost

The participation fee for a standard training session is CHF 900 per person and includes the training and free drinks (water, coffee). A lunch snack is offered as part of the full-day training.

As an alternative, we also offer closed group training sessions/workshops for up to 12 people on the customer’s premises. Please get in touch with us.

Terms and conditions

Registration

Registration is binding once the form is completed and submitted. You will receive a confirmation of registration. We will also inform you by email whether there are still places available in the event and whether the event has reached the minimum number of participants. Registrations will be considered in the order in which they are received.

We reserve the right to cancel the course up to one week before the course date if a minimum number of five participants is not reached or for organisational reasons, e.g. the instructor falls ill. Any participation fees already paid will be refunded.

Terms of payment

Participation fees are due before the start of the event. Invoices must be paid within 30 days. If payment has not been received by the first day of the event or if no corresponding proof can be provided, we reserve the right to conduct a credit check. We reserve the right to revise the content of the event and to change dates and locations.

Cancellation

Cancellation is possible up to two months before the start of the event. In case of cancellation up to one month before the start of the event, 50% of the course fee will be charged. For later cancellations, the full amount is always due. There are no fees for providing a substitute participant. If a registered participant does not show up for the event or leaves early, the full fee must still be paid.

Training conditions

All participants who have attended the event in full will receive a certificate of attendance in PDF form. We reserve all rights, including those of the translation, reprinting and reproduction of the training documents or parts thereof. No part of the training material may be reproduced in any form (including for the purposes of course design, internal training or similar), edited by means of electronic systems, duplicated, distributed or used for public reproduction without our written permission.
