Creating a SwissID account

How much does SwissID cost?

SwissID is free of charge for you as a user.

How do I create a SwissID account?

You can create a SwissID account in just a few minutes here. To do this, you need access to your email account and possibly also your mobile device. Once you have created your account, you will be logged in automatically. You can then set up the other functions.

What should my password include?

Your password must be between 9 and 64 characters long. You can use uppercase and lowercase letters, as well as numbers and special characters. You should avoid using parts of your name or sequences of numbers.

When you enter your new password, the password strength will be displayed automatically.

What should I do if I do not receive a confirmation code by email?

If you do not receive a confirmation code by email, please check the following:

  • Have you entered your current email address correctly?

  • Has the email been moved to your spam folder? If so, add the domain swissid.ch to your list of safe senders.

How can I register with SwissID as a business customer?

A SwissID is registered in the name of a person, not a company. You therefore need to create a SwissID account by entering your first and last name and your email address. You can decide for yourself whether you want to use your personal or your business email address.

Deleting your SwissID account

How can I delete my SwissID account?

You can permanently delete your SwissID account at any time. To do this, log in to your SwissID account and go to ‘Personal information’. Click ‘Delete SwissID account’ and follow the instructions.
