Prove the existence of a digital document at a specific point in time and lay the foundations for your digital archive: it’s efficient, legally compliant, future-proof – and much less work
How to guarantee the integrity of your documents at a specific point in time
Unlike in the physical world, it is only possible to detect subsequent changes to a digital document if it has been furnished with a timestamp.
-
Timestamps are based on a digital certificate that is stored with the document and confirms its integrity at a specific point in time
-
If the document is subsequently changed, the timestamp is no longer valid
-
When a timestamp is obtained for a document, it remains in the customer’s secure environment; only a unique identifier (‘hash value’) is sent to the service
-
Standardised interface according to RFC 3161; various libraries for addressing the interface are available online
Archives, invoices and transactions made digital, legally valid and future-proof
Timestamps allow you to digitalise and simplify many processes that are currently still paper-based – thereby making them cheaper and more secure
-
Records management and digital archiving: to ensure traceability of electronic storage as well as additional security. The Swiss Business Records Ordinance (GeBüV) refers explicitly to these timestamps in this context.
-
Legally robust proof that a document existed or was issued at a specific point in time, e.g. for invoices, digital contracts, the punctual submission of documents or for intellectual property
